SRIF collaborates with the many research centers within the College of Science. We have assisted in developing instrumental analysis methods that include sample extraction, sample clean-up, and instrumental analysis.
The Potomac Environmental Research and Education Center (PEREC)
PEREC is one of the key components of George Mason University’s new Potomac Science Center. It focuses on Potomac River restoration and local sustainability practices, so that the local ecosystem will be healthy for years to come. Traditionally, the Departments of Chemistry/Biochemistry, Biology, and Environmental Science and Policy have been the most prolific users of SRIF instruments.
SRIF collaborates closely with PEREC research through the instrumental analysis of environmental samples for multiple classes of micro-pollutants.
